What happens to what you tell us.
Short version: your information is used to answer your question and nothing else. It is never sold, and it is never handed to anyone who wants to market to you.
What gets collected
Only what you type. The contact form asks for your name, email address and a description of your situation, and optionally your phone number, state, topic and preferred language. Nothing on this site collects information about you in the background. The coverage finder asks a few questions as well — for a business that includes the size of the team, what coverage is already in place, roughly what it costs and whether a broker is involved. Those answers stay in your own browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you pick a way to get in touch, and then they travel with your message so you do not have to type it all out again.
If you describe a health condition, a prescription or a letter you received, that is health information and it is treated as confidential. It is used to answer your question and to check plans against your actual situation. Do not send a Social Security number, a Medicare number or a bank account number through this form — there is never a reason to, and a form is the wrong place for it.
The site remembers one thing in your own browser: whether you chose English or Spanish. That preference stays on your device and is not sent anywhere.
Text messages
If you text the number on this site, that is a conversation you started and you will get a reply to it. If you tick the box on the contact form agreeing to texts, you may also get a text about the request you sent. Message and data rates from your own carrier may apply, and message frequency varies.
Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of getting a quote, buying a policy, or getting help. Your phone number is not shared with anyone for their own marketing, ever.
Who else sees it
Form submissions are delivered through the company that hosts this website, and your contact details are stored in the agency’s customer records system so that your question does not get lost. Both are ordinary business tools bound by their own agreements to handle the data only on the agency’s behalf.
Beyond that, information is shared only with an insurance carrier or a government marketplace, and only when you are actually applying for or asking about coverage with them, and only what that application needs. It is never sold, rented, traded or given to a lead buyer.
Links that leave this site
The “do it yourself” buttons open enrollment sites run by other companies and by state and federal marketplaces. Once you are there you are on their site, under their privacy policy, not this one. Those links carry an agent identifier so the agency knows the referral came from here — that is the whole of what is passed along.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages people actually use. It stores a small file in your browser so that a repeat visit can be told apart from a new one, and it reports back general things: which pages were opened, how far down the page people read, which links were clicked, roughly which region the visit came from, and whether it was a phone or a computer. It does not tell us your name.
Google’s advertising features are switched off on this site. You are not added to any advertising audience, none of this is used to follow you around other websites, and none of it is sold or shared.
If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes a free browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off on every site you visit: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
What you can ask for
You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and you can ask to stop receiving texts or emails at any time. Write to neil@labordeinsurance.com or call (860) 200-2272 and it will be handled. Records connected to a policy that was actually issued may need to be kept for as long as insurance regulations require, and that will be explained if it applies to you.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging coverage. Information about children is collected only when a parent or guardian provides it as part of a household applying for a family plan.
Changes, and who to ask
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Questions about any of it go to Neil LaBorde, LaBorde Insurance Services, Bristol, CT 06010 — neil@labordeinsurance.com or (860) 200-2272.
